It Works! It Really Works!

Sorry for the delay in posting. Last week was CA-RAZY! Between that time of the month, dealing with a bank issue and ANG drill this weekend, I feel like I have been going non-stop! My eating habits slid a bit this weekend too. Drill weekends are always tough when it comes to eating healthy. I have to get up at 5:30 in the morning and I'm usually not feeling up to fixing my lunch that early...so I end up having to swing by one of the many fast food places near the base. Both days, I chose Wendy's...Saturday I did pretty good and did their "Pair 2" option with their new Wild Berry Chicken Salad and a baked potato. I took the chicken off the salad and ate the potato with a just a bit of the "buttery spread". Sunday I just tossed the whole "healthy eating" thing to the wind and got the Bacon Mushroom Melt burger with fries and a wild berry tea. Oh yeah and I almost forgot to mention that I ate about half a bag of Reese's miniature peanut butter cups during a pique of chocolate craving. :P

But even with all of that, I stepped on the scales just a few minutes ago and.....*drum roll please*....I've lost 8 pounds since I started my healthy eating journey just one month ago! When I started, I was hovering around 135 and now I'm down to 127. And this is with weighing myself in the evening (when I'm usually a few pounds heavier than in the morning), just coming off of my period, without exercising at all or eating anything labelled "lo-cal" or "lo-fat". In fact, I've added real butter and whole milk to my diet. So to those who say that you can't lose weight on a full-fat, all-natural diet, I say that I am now living proof that you can! And that in itself is making my blogging here so worthwhile because that has been one of my primary goals in doing this.

And here's a pic of my full-fat, full-calorie, but all-natural and easy-to-make, dinner tonight: homemade pizza. I just started with a pre-made all-natural Cheesy Herb Crust by Rustic Crust, topped it with Eden Organic Fire-Roasted Tomatoes mixed with a bit of garlic salt and rosemary, and shredded Sweetwater Valley Farm Tomato and Herb and Buttermilk, and crumbled Kira's Kids goat cheeses. On my half, I chopped up some kalamata olives while Munchkin wanted hers plain cheese only. Oh my...soooo good!

More HG makeovers and some other recipes forthcoming very soon!
